At NC Rush Central, we offer boys' and girls' travel teams for ages 11U to 16U, creating a competitive environment for players who are serious about developing their game and aiming for high school, college, or even professional soccer.
Our competitive program is designed to develop elite soccer players and also value and support athletes who participate in multiple sports or pursue high-level talents beyond athletics. If you fit this profile and are offered a place in our club, we provide flexibility and and a well-rounded approach so players can grow in all areas while continuing their soccer development.
Most of our teams compete in the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA) League, which is part of United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) and serves over 2 million players nationwide.
For players looking to push their game to the next level, we offer pathways to regional, national, and professional opportunities, including:
At NC Rush Central, we’re here to help players grow, compete, and chase their soccer dreams—whether that means making their high school team, playing in college, or going pro one day.

Training is two-three days per week, in Chapel Hill at Culbreth Middle School, Scroggs Field, Carrboro HS or East Chapel Hill HS.
We also offer additional programming available for all NC Rush members in addition to their usual sessions, such as Futsal Friday or open NC Rush community pick up games.
Trainings in the fall and spring are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with games on the weekends.
Winter training is twice per week indoors, though the specific schedule will be announced closer to the winter season, we generally aim for one Tuesday or Wednesday training and Sunday games.
All training and game schedules will be shared one month in advance of every season and we will have preseason info meeting for all age groups with coaches and directors presenting the plans and organzation for the upcoming season "block".
The NCYSA league seasons provide 8-10 league games and require travel to 4-5 away games within the Piedmont or Coastal Region of the state.
We play in 2-3 tournaments per year and have the option to add more as additional playing opportunities if that is best for a specific team or age group.
Our compeitive program plays in NCYSA leagues at Challenge and Classic levels. This includes many local clubs and other clubs across the state.
The specific league entered for any age group (and opponents within that legaue) is dependent on the level that best suites the development of those players.
The “U” in an age group means that age and younger. "16U" is 16 years old and younger. In the United States, teams are grouped by birth year. Players can play up in age but cannot play down.
To see what age group you fall under please see our age group chart.
Our academy features a collaboration of head coaches and specialty training staff.
The primary coaches for this program are:
11v11 Director and Head Coach, Jason Sisneros
11v11 Associate Director and Head Coach, Jeff Finken
Head Coach, Damian Carter
Assistant Coach, Robbie Wooten
Assistant Coach, Will Lloyd
Head Goalkeepers Coach, Aaron Swingler
Technical Training Coach, Milton Valerio
We may also add additional staff members between now and the fall season. Our staff works together, under a professional program curriculum designed to help all of our individual players and teams improve and prepare for the next level in our player pathway.
It is expected that all Comp Program members attend their training sessions and games if they are healthy and available.
Individual and seasonal scheduling adjustments may be made with the collaboration of our directors, staff and families to ensure our players are supported in their soccer improvement and personal growth.
Any multi-sport athlete, school sports participation or other activities that require flexibility would fall into a "Competitive Flex" category and are welcomed into our program with proper planning and communication.
Competitive Flex is a classification of player within our competitive program that requires a "flex plan" for seasonal scheduling and training.
This type of player loves soccer and wants to be the best they can be in the sport while also balancing their multi-sport participation, school sports or other talents that require a degree of planning outside of the usual occasional schedule adjustment.

We’re here to help our players grow—not just in soccer, but in life. Through the game, we teach skills that go beyond the field—confidence, resilience, and teamwork—so that every young athlete who comes through our club is better prepared for whatever path they choose. Soccer is our passion, but our true goal is to shape strong, well-rounded individuals who carry the lessons they learn here into every part of their lives.
Our leaders create an environment that fosters growth, learning, and support for every player’s development. Beyond teaching skills and tactics, we focus on instilling a sense of ownership in players—helping them set goals, apply self-discipline, build self-belief, and become positive, contributing teammates. With decades of experience, we know that shaping behavior starts with shaping the environment—when the right environment is in place, a positive culture can grow and success follows.
While the game happens on the field, the memories and connections formed off the field are just as important. From team trips and pro game watch parties, to pizza nights and lifelong friendships, the soccer experience extends far beyond the game itself. At NC Rush Central, we recognize the value of these moments and actively cultivate a club culture that fosters meaningful experiences for players, families, and our entire soccer community.
